Allen out as Missouri State football coach

Springfield, MO (SportsNetwork.com) – Missouri State said Sunday it will not
bring back football coach Terry Allen after nine seasons.

Allen’s contract expired after Saturday’s regular-season finale at Northern
Iowa. Missouri State had a 4-8 record this season – after a 3-1 start – and was
37-64 under Allen.

He told reporters after the UNI game that he had coached his final game at
Missouri State. Athletic director Kyle Moats made that official Sunday at a
news conference.

Allen has a 132-123 career record in 22 overall seasons. He had been a big
winner previously in the Missouri Valley Football Conference at UNI, going
75-26 in eight seasons from 1989-1996. He also was 20-33 in five seasons at
Kansas from 1997-2001.
