Clarksville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) – Austin Peay ended the longest losing
streak in Division I at 18 games with a 20-13 win over Ohio Valley Conference
rival Murray State Saturday night.
Quarterback Mickey Macius completed 18-of-22 pass attempts for 201 yards and
three touchdowns to Jared Beard. Both players are freshmen.
Austin Peay (1-6, 1-2) forced five turnovers in handing second-year coach Kirby
Cannon his first victory.
Murray quarterback KD Humphries had been the OVC offensive player of the week
the last two weeks, but he didn’t throw a touchdown and was intercepted twice
while the Racers fell to 2-5 overall and 1-3 in the OVC.
