Baylor stays perfect with win over Texas

Austin, TX (SportsNetwork.com) – Bryce Petty threw two touchdown passes and
the seventh-ranked Baylor Bears shook off a sluggish first half in a 28-7 rout
of the Texas Longhorns.

Petty completed 7-of-22 passes for 111 yards for the Bears (5-0, 2-0 Big 12),
who have started 5-0 in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1916 and
1917.

Shock Linwood carried the ball 28 times for 148 yards and a score for Baylor,
which entered Saturday’s game leading the FBS in scoring offense (56.8 ppg)
and total offense (641.0 ypg). The Bears were limited to 390 yards of total
offense.

Tyrone Swoopes connected on 15-of-33 passes for 142 yards and two
interceptions for the Longhorns (2-3, 1-1). He also carried the ball 13 times
for 38 yards.

Johnathan Gray rushed for 81 yards and one touchdown on 13 carries.
