Bengals’ Burfict sidelined after knee surgery

Cincinnati, OH (SportsNetwork.com) – Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze
Burfict will miss at least Sunday’s game against Jacksonville after undergoing
knee surgery on Wednesday.

Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said Burfict had an arthroscopic procedure
performed to have loose cartilage removed. The 2013 Pro Bowl selection was
hurt during this past Sunday’s game against Baltimore, but played through the
injury.

Lewis also said Burfict will most likely miss Cincinnati’s Week 10 game
against Cleveland since it takes place next Thursday and will likely return
for the Nov. 16 game against New Orleans.

Burfict, who signed a new four-year contract this summer after leading the
team in tackles each of his first two seasons, missed two games earlier this
year because of concussions and also hurt his neck two weeks ago against
Indianapolis.
