Cincinnati, OH (SportsNetwork.com) – Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J.
Green was not present at the team’s practice on Thursday due to a recurring
toe injury that has put his availability for this weekend’s game against
Carolina in doubt.
NFL.com reported that Green, who left Wednesday’s session on a cart after
hurting his big toe during warmups, went to see a foot specialist on Thursday
and is not expected to play in Sunday’s game with the Panthers.
Green, a second team All-Pro in 2013 after amassing 1,426 yards and 11
touchdowns on a career-high 98 catches last season, initially sustained the
injury in the season opener at Baltimore and left the following week’s contest
against Atlanta in the first quarter without catching. He returned to catch
nine passes for 102 yards against Tennessee in Week 3 and also played in
Sunday’s 43-17 loss at New England.
The three-time Pro Bowl selection has 17 catches for 314 yards with two
touchdowns this season.
