Bridgewater ruled out vs. Packers

Green Bay, WI (SportsNetwork.com) – Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy
Bridgewater is inactive for Thursday’s NFC North tilt against the Green Bay
Packers.

Bridgewater, who suffered a sprained left ankle late in Sunday’s 41-28 win
over Atlanta, returned to practice in a limited role on Wednesday, but the
short week proved too much of a concern and the rookie will be held out of the
contest.

Christian Ponder, the Vikings’ 2013 starter at quarterback, will be under
center in Bridgewater’s absence.

Bridgewater took over the No. 1 job following veteran Matt Cassel’s season-
ending broken foot in Minnesota’s Week 2 loss to New England. The former
Louisville standout threw for 317 yards on 19-of-30 passing against the
Falcons while adding his first career rushing touchdown.

Quarterback Chandler Harnish was signed off of Minnesota’s practice squad
earlier on Thursday and will serve as Ponder’s backup.
