St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) – Denver Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel
Sanders was being evaluated for a concussion and tight end Julius Thomas was
injured during Sunday’s game against St. Louis.
Sanders was stretching for Peyton Manning’s overthrown pass near the right
sideline in the third quarter when he was hit hard by Rams safety Rodney
McLeod.
Sanders, who had a 42-yard touchdown catch in the first half, remained on the
ground for several minutes before being helped off.
McLeod’s hit drew penalties for unnecessary roughness, which was accepted, and
illegal contact, which was declined. Replays showed he made shoulder-to-
shoulder contact with Sanders.
Thomas left the game in the first quarter with an ankle injury and will not
return, the Broncos said.
