Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) – Cleveland Browns two-time Pro Bowl
center Alex Mack will undergo surgery on his broken left fibula in the coming
days, the team announced Monday.
Mack awkwardly fell to the ground on a rushing attempt in the second quarter
and was helped to the sideline by trainers before being carted off to the
locker room.
Browns head coach Mike Pettine is still unsure if Mack will miss the rest of
the season.
“We’ll know later in the week,” he said. “There’s not going to be any sympathy
cards from around the league.”
Right guard John Greco moved over to play center following the injury.
Mack had started all 85 games of his six-year career.
