Bucs sign LB Bruce Carter to four-year deal

Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers agreed to a four-year
contract with former Dallas Cowboys linebacker Bruce Carter on Wednesday.

Carter racked up 242 tackles, three sacks and five interceptions over the past
four seasons with the Cowboys. All five of his picks came in 13 games last
season.

The 27-year-old Carter started 32 out of 49 games in his career with the
Cowboys. He was a second-round pick in 2011 out of North Carolina.

The Buccaneers also released defensive end Michael Johnson after one year with
the team.

Johnson was signed last spring as a free agent after spending the first five
years of his career with the Bengals. He had 27 tackles and four sacks in 14
games (13 starts) for the Bucs in 2014.
