Busy Colts sign RB Gore, DE Cole

Indianapolis, IN (SportsNetwork.com) – The Indianapolis Colts made a quick
start to the free agency period, agreeing to terms with running back Frank
Gore and defensive end Trent Cole on Tuesday.

Gore had spent his entire 10-year career with San Francisco and was reportedly
headed to Philadelphia, but apparently pulled out of a pending deal with the
Eagles.

The five-time Pro Bowl selection will turn 32 years old in May. He has run for
11,073 yards and 64 touchdowns in 148 career games.

Despite his age, Gore’s production hasn’t diminished. He appeared in all 16
games last season, rushing for 1,106 yards and four touchdowns on 255 carries.
He’s gone over 1,000 rushing yards in four straight seasons.

Cole was released by the Eagles last week, saving Philadelphia $11.625 million
against the salary cap in 2015.

A two-time Pro Bowl selection, Cole recorded 569 tackles, 85 1/2 sacks and 19
forced fumbles in 10 seasons with Philadelphia, which selected him in the
fifth round of the 2005 draft. He ranks second in Eagles history in sacks,
behind only Reggie White’s 124.

The 32-year-old Cincinnati product had 52 tackles and 6 1/2 sacks in 2014.
