CFL Season Opener : Ottawa at Montreal

Our moneymaking period of the year is upon us.  Canadian Football was a virtual ATM where we cashed out often in the early going.  Last year’s trend was the under on the totals.  The linesmakers were very hesitant to make the necessary shifts across the board.  In the end, easy pickings were available.  With the season opener tonight will it be more of the same for 2015?  Apex Football Betting will look at Ottawa visiting Montreal this evening.

Regression?

Second half of the season had the Alouettes reel of eight of their last nine after starting 1-7.  This was good enough to garner a spot in the much weaker east.  Have they maintained this learning curve or will they regress at the start of this season.  From a win perspective. Montreal is near a double digit home favorite at the eight range.  The improvements are upgrades to a receiving core that finished near the bottom of the league in total yards.  A dimension that is somewhat lacking is that these veteran improvements will lack some of the burst from the line that others lack.  It is all about separation in the CFL at that position.

RedBlacks

Rough can not begin to describe the initial season in the reboot at Ottawa.  Sixteen loses and being in the east are hard to swallow.  Inept offensive totals with less than ten points happening in eight games does not bring fans into the gate.  An immediate upgrade at receiver and special teams is seen with Chris Williams.  This team has to loosen up to survive and attract fans.  If you lose a ton of games, it had better not go in tandem with paltry scoring.

The word out of the capitol is that Ottawa had better score especially against the East.  Risk taking and ingenuity is rumored to be instilled in the sophomore season for the RedBlacks.  The CFL is such that aggressive offensive play will be reflected in points.  You might tire out your defense by the end of the season with their frequency on the field but one has to score in this league.  Our Free Pick to Start things off is going to go against the trend that started last year.  The total of 47 will be exploitable on the over.  Good fortune and we will see you next time at Apex Football Betting.
