Kansas City, MO (SportsNetwork.com) – Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal
Charles appears headed to be a game-time decision for the team’s matchup at
Miami on Sunday.
Charles returned to practice Thursday, albeit in a limited capacity, just four
days after head coach Andy Reid said the 2013 AFC rushing leader suffered a
high ankle sprain in a Week 2 loss at Denver. Charles was also a limited
participant during Friday’s session and was listed as questionable on the
final injury report.
“We’re going to see how he did on (the ankle) today and how he feels after
this practice,” said Reid. “But he did practice and he moved around and did a
decent job. So, we’ll see how it all works out.”
Safety Eric Berry, who also sprained his ankle in Sunday’s 24-17 loss to the
Broncos, has been ruled out for this weekend’s clash after sitting out a third
straight practice on Friday.
Rookie running back/return specialist De’Anthony Thomas will miss a third
consecutive game due to a lingering hamstring injury.
