New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Dallas Cowboys star left tackle Tyron Smith
claimed the NFC Offensive Player of the Week Award for Week 6.
Smith was the leader of an offensive line that helped Dallas rack up 401 total
yards of offense in a shocking win over the Seahawks in Seattle. He is the
first offensive lineman to receive player of the week honors since Brian
Waters won it while with Kansas City in 2004.
Detroit Lions defensive end Ezekiel Ansah took home the defensive award after
he recorded 2 1/2 sacks, five tackles and a forced fumble in the Lions’ 17-3
win at Minnesota.
Arizona Cardinals kicker Chandler Catanzaro won the special teams award after
making kicks from 33, 49 and 37 yards in the Cardinals’ 30-20 win over
Washington. He is 14-of-14 on field goals for the season.
