Eagles sign WR Ajirotutu, DB Biggers

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) – The Philadelphia Eagles have signed
wide receiver Seyi Ajirotutu and defensive back E.J. Biggers to one-year
contracts.

Biggers has played both cornerback and safety during a six-year career, which
began in 2009 as a seventh-round pick of the Buccaneers. He spent the last two
seasons with the Washington Redskins after spending his first four with the
Bucs.

The 27-year-old Biggers has appeared in 76 NFL games (31 starts), recording
235 tackles, four interceptions and one sack.

The Eagles have a clear need at the safety position following the departure of
2014 starter Nate Allen, who left via free agency. After Malcolm Jenkins, the
remaining safeties on the Eagles’ roster are Chris Maragos, Chris Prosinski,
Ed Reynolds and Earl Wolff.

Ajirotutu has appeared in 57 career games (two starts) with the Panthers and
Chargers, totaling 420 yards and three touchdowns on 24 catches. He was named
the 2014 Chargers Special Teams Player of the Year and led the team in special
teams tackles in both 2013 (12) and 2014 (17).
