Elon, NC (SportsNetwork.com) – Elon’s first-ever CAA Football game was not
memorable on Saturday.
Except for the fourth-ranked New Hampshire Wildcats.
Last year’s FCS national semifinalist cruised to a 48-14 victory at Rhodes
Stadium – building a 48-0 lead through three quarters.
Quarterback Andy Vailas threw for 193 yards and two touchdowns, and six
different Wildcats found the end zone, including Steve Thames on a 55-yard
interception return in the second quarter.
Coach Sean McDonnell’s UNH squad improved to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the CAA.
Elon fell to 1-4 and 0-1.
