New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco,
Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jurrell Casey and Indianapolis Colts punter
Pat McAfee were selected as the AFC’s top players for Week 6.
Flacco was named Offensive Player of the Week after throwing a career-high
five touchdown passes, all in the first half of Baltimore’s 48-17 win over
Tampa Bay.
He became the fastest player in NFL history to throw five touchdown passes in
a game and finished with 306 yards on 21-of-29 passing to take home his third
career weekly honor.
Casey notched his first weekly defensive award after recording two sacks and a
career-high nine tackles in Tennessee’s 16-14 win over Jacksonville. He is the
only tackle in the NFL with multiple two-sack games (two) this season.
McAfee was chosen as the top special teams player after recovering his own
onside kick in the first quarter and averaging 39.8 yards over his four punts
in the Colts’ 33-28 win over Houston on Thursday night.
