FSU suspends QB Winston for entire Clemson game

Tallahassee, FL (SportsNetwork.com) – Upon further review, Florida State
quarterback Jameis Winston will not play against Clemson on Saturday.

Florida State announced late Friday night that the reigning Heisman Trophy
winner will sit the entire game. The school had originally suspended Winston
for just the first half after he made a lewd comment about women on campus
earlier this week.

“Based upon the results of our continuing investigation of Tuesday’s incident
involving Jameis Winston, we have decided to not play him for the entire game
against Clemson on Saturday night,” the school said in a release.

Several students tweeted on Tuesday that Winston shouted an obscene phrase
from an Internet video. Winston apologized for his actions.

Tuesday’s incident was the latest in a growing list of off-the-field news for
Winston, who was investigated in 2013 for sexual assault — a Florida State
Attorney declined to press charges. He was also suspended from the baseball
team after being cited for stealing crab legs and crawfish in April.

Backup quarterback Sean Maguire will start in Winston’s place for the NO. 1
Seminoles against the 22nd-ranked Tigers.
