East Rutherford, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) – The New York Giants officially
placed cornerback Prince Amukamara on injured reserve Wednesday, one day after
head coach Tom Coughlin said the former first-round pick will miss the rest of
the season with a torn biceps.
Amukamara suffered the injury in Monday’s loss to the Indianapolis Colts. The
four-year pro was having a solid season, having tied for the team lead with
three interceptions and recording 11 passes defensed along with 45 tackles
while starting all eight games.
The Giants have already had to deal with season-ending injuries to two other
cornerbacks, with Walter Thurmond tearing his pectoral in Week 2 and Trumaine
McBride dislocating his thumb during the team’s game at Philadelphia on Oct.

New York filled the available roster spot by claiming cornerback Chykie Brown
off waivers from the Baltimore Ravens.
Brown appeared in 46 regular-season games — including all 16 in 2012 and 2013
— with two starts over four seasons with the Ravens. The 2011 fifth-round
choice was waived by Baltimore on Tuesday.
