Gurley unlikely to play against Arkansas

Athens, GA (SportsNetwork.com) – Georgia football coach Mark Richt doesn’t
expect a change in star running back Todd Gurley’s status for Saturday’s game
against Arkansas.

Gurley was suspended indefinitely last Thursday and missed the Bulldogs’ win
at Missouri while the school conducts an investigation into a potential NCAA
rules violation.

Richt said via Twitter on Thursday that “we will let you know if his status
changes. Not anticipating it to change this week.”

Details of the investigation haven’t been made public, although reports have
indicated it to revolve around Gurley possibly being paid for signing
autographs and memorabilia.

Gurley was a top Heisman Trophy candidate after five games this season. The
junior has 773 rushing yards with an average of 8.2 yards per carry and eight
touchdowns. He also returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown and has 11
catches for 53 yards.
