Previously, the 59-year-old Kramer earned top Big Sky honors at Montana State
twice and Eastern Washington once.
He is just the second coach in Division I history to earn coach of the year
honors at three different schools in the same conference. Dennis Erickson was
the first to accomplish the feat, claiming honors at Washington State, Oregon
State and Arizona State in the Pac-12.
Under Kramer, Idaho State finished the season with an 8-4 record and in a
three-way tie for second place in the conference with a 6-2 mark. The Bengals
had won only six games over his first three seasons with the program from
2011-13, and only nine from 2008-13.
Off the field, Kramer’s team has posted a 3.0 or better grade point average in
five of the last six semesters to emerge from NCAA academic sanctions.
