Allen Park, MI (SportsNetwork.com) – The Detroit Lions re-signed defensive end
Darryl Tapp and backup quarterback Dan Orlovsky to one-year deals, the team
announced Monday.
Tapp, 30, will earn $870,000 and receive an $80,000 signing bonus, according
to reports.
The nine-year NFL veteran was signed by the Lions last March and appeared in
all 16 games, compiling 17 tackles, two passes defensed and a half-sack. He
has also played for Washington, Philadelphia and Seattle.
Orlovsky, who was originally drafted by the Lions in 2005, returned to the
team on a one-year deal last April after spending the previous five seasons
with Houston, Indianapolis and Tampa Bay.
He didn’t take a snap as Matthew Stafford’s backup last year and has thrown
just seven passes since the start of the 2012 season.
