Allen Park, MI (SportsNetwork.com) – The Detroit Lions signed kicker Alex
Henery and released rookie kicker Nate Freese on Monday.
The Lions selected Freese in the seventh round of this year’s draft, but he
missed four field goals through the first three games. All three of his
successful makes came from 30 yards or less.
Henery, meanwhile, comes to Detroit after being released by Philadelphia
before the start of the season.
Over three years with the Eagles, he made 74-of-86 field goal attempts with a
long of 51.
