Long-time Titans DB Finnegan retires

(SportsNetwork.com) – Nine-year NFL veteran Cortland Finnegan announced on
Wednesday that he is retiring.

Finnegan made the announcement via his Instagram page.

“Spent 9 years doing something I Loved and it has payed off in so many ways..
To say I have been blessed is an understatement I am forever thankful.. I have
made my share of mistakes and had moments of glory. I even got into a fight in
an NFL Game ( he hits like a bish) ????. I’m thankful for the friends I made
on and off the field love yAll.. Time to move on and enjoy new people new
places and new ideas.. I forgot to thank all the haters I love yAll to”

Finnegan was known as a feisty, in-your-face player. The “fight” he is
referring to is when he and then-Houston Texan Andre Johnson got into an on-
field skirmish during a game.

Finnegan played last season with the Miami Dolphins. He began his career in
2006 with Tennessee, playing six seasons with the Titans before moving on to
the St. Louis Rams for two years.

He ends his career with 645 tackles, seven sacks, 18 interceptions, five
forced fumbles and four touchdowns.
