Cincinnati, OH (SportsNetwork.com) – Defensive end Michael Johnson is set to
return to Cincinnati.
According to the Bengals’ website, Johnson has agreed to new contract and will
return to the club a year after leaving as a free agent for Tampa Bay. The
Buccaneers released Johnson last week.
Johnson completed just one season of a five-year, $43.75 million contract he
signed with Tampa Bay last March. He dealt with an ankle injury last season
and played in 14 games for the Bucs, accumulating four sacks and 27 tackles.
The 28-year-old Georgia Tech product posted 26 1/2 sacks in his first five
seasons with the Bengals, including a career-high 11 1/2 in 2012.
