NAU scores late, upsets No. 2 Eastern Washington

Flagstaff, AR (SportsNetwork.com) – Northern Arizona backup quarterback Jordan
Perry connected with freshman wide receiver Dan Galindo on a 20-yard touchdown
pass with 12 seconds remaining to lift the Lumberjacks to a 28-27 upset of No.
2 Eastern Washington on Saturday.

The Lumberjacks (5-3, 3-1) ended two-time defending Big Sky champion Eastern
Washington’s conference winning streak at 14 games. The Eagles fell to 7-2
overall and 4-1 in the Big Sky.

Perry’s 54-yard completion to Alex Holmes on the preceding play set up the
winning touchdown, which erased a 27-22 NAU deficit.

Starting quarterback Chase Cartwright was 23-for-40 for 255 yards and two
touchdowns before leaving the game.

The Lumberjacks overcame the spectacular return of EWU running back Jordan
Talley from injury as he rushed for 219 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries.

EWU quarterback Jordan West, making his third start in place of injured
standout Vernon Adams Jr., was 16-for-34 for 171 yards and two touchdowns in
the loss.
