Greenville, NC (SportsNetwork.com) – Shane Carden threw three of his four
touchdown passes to Justin Hardy and the 22nd-ranked East Carolina Pirates
cruised past the SMU Mustangs, 45-24, in their first-ever American Athletic
Conference game.
Carden completed 31-of-41 passes for 410 yards for the Pirates (4-1, 1-0 AAC),
who have won three in a row. He also carried the ball seven times for 47
yards.
Hardy caught eight passes for 120 yards and Isaiah Jones hauled in nine passes
for 130 yards and a touchdown.
Garrett Krstich connected on 42-of-67 passes for 339 yards, two touchdowns and
an interception for the Mustangs (0-5, 0-1), who entered the contest with just
12 points in four games.
Darius Joseph caught 13 passes for 100 yards and two scores in defeat.
