Ravens CB Smith has season-ending foot surgery

Owings Mills, MD (SportsNetwork.com) – Baltimore Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith
had season-ending surgery on his left foot Thursday.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh said doctors decided Thursday morning that Smith
needed surgery.

Previously the coach had said Smith would be out “a few weeks” after suffering
a sprained foot on the opening drive of Baltimore’s Oct. 26 game against
Cincinnati.

Smith, 26, had started every game the past two seasons before the injury. The
fourth-year corner had 28 tackles and one interception in eight games this
season. He will be ready for the team’s offseason program, Harbaugh said.

The Ravens (5-4) have lost two games in a row heading into Sunday’s meeting
with Tennessee.
