Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) – Baltimore Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta
was carted off the field with a leg injury in the second quarter of Sunday’s
game against the Cleveland Browns.
Pitta ran a short hitch route and caught a pass from Joe Flacco. As he went to
turn, he appeared to suffer the injury and went to the ground without contact.
He writhed on the turf in pain and was covering his eyes while being carted to
the locker room for further tests.
Pitta signed a five-year contract in the offseason despite missing a
significant portion of last season while recovering from a fractured and
dislocated right hip.
He has 16 catches for 125 yards this season, including a three-catch, 12-yard
effort before exiting on Sunday.
