Metairie, LA (SportsNetwork.com) – The New Orleans Saints and Jimmy Graham are
taking a wait-and-see approach to this weekend’s game in Detroit.
The star tight end was limited in practice again Friday because of a shoulder
injury he suffered Oct. 5 against Tampa Bay before the team’s bye week.
Graham said Saints coach Sean Payton wants to see how the tight end is feeling
Sunday before making a decision about whether or not he’ll play. He was listed
as questionable on Friday’s injury report.
“If I can, I can. If I can’t, I can’t,” said Graham, who has 34 catches for
376 yards and three touchdowns through five games. “Hopefully maybe in two
days I’ll feel better.”
Center Jonathan Goodwin also left the Oct. 5 game with a knee injury but is
likely to play Sunday. Running backs Mark Ingram (hand) and Pierre Thomas
(illness) are also probable to play.
Linebackers Ramon Humber and Kyle Knox have been ruled out with ankle injuries
while defensive back Patrick Robinson (hamstring) is questionable.
Graham isn’t the only star pass-catcher whose status for the game is up in the
air. Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson is questionable with an ankle injury
that forced him to miss Sunday’s game against Minnesota.
