Seahawks terminate TE Miller’s contract

Renton, WA ( – The Seattle Seahawks announced several
roster moves on Friday, including the termination of tight end Zach Miller’s

Miller had been signed to a $34 million contract with $17 million guaranteed
over five years back in August of 2011.

His 2014 campaign was cut short due to an ankle injury which landed him on
season-ending injured reserve in October. Before the setback, Miller posted 76
yards on six receptions in three games.

Miller ends his Seattle tenure having compiled 102 catches for 1,092 yards and
eight TDs over 48 appearances.

In additional moves, the club signed defensive end Greg Scruggs to a one-year
contract and waived tackle Garrett Scott and defensive tackle Jesse Williams.

Scruggs, a seventh-round pick of Seattle in 2012, has spent the majority of
his career dealing with injury troubles. He participated in three games last
season before winding up on IR. The Louisville product has seen action in 14
games for the team, totaling eight tackles and a pair of sacks.
