New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers
was named the NFC’s offensive player of the week for his efforts in Week 4.
Rodgers was joined by San Francisco 49ers saftey Antoine Bethea and
Philadelphia Eagles punt returner-running back Darren Sproles as the best in
the NFC for last weekend’s performances.
Rodgers completed 22-of-28 passes for 302 yards with four touchdowns and no
interceptions for a 151.2 passer rating in the Packers’ 38-17 win at Chicago.
Bethea, the defensive player of the week, had an interception, a forced fumble
and seven tackles in the 49ers’ 26-21 win over Philadelphia. He helped lead a
squad that held Philadelphia’s high-powered offense to no offfensive points on
the afternoon.
Sproles, the special teams player of the week, had a career-long 82-yard punt
return for a touchdown in the Eagles’ loss. He was part of a unit that scored
the only two special teams touchdowns in Week 4.
